Selo checks the document, liveness and face of the person opening an account. Your company receives a signed verdict. The images stay inside Selo and are destroyed on approval, or within 72 hours at most.

How Selo decides
The analysis runs in three stages, in this order. If one fails, the following ones do not run. At the end comes the verdict.
Document
RG, CNH and passport
Checks printed features, the machine-readable zone, validity, and whether front and back belong to the same document. Only the date of birth, the expiry and the number leave the document, and the number is stored as an irreversible pseudonym.
Liveness
A 2 minute challenge
The person answers a challenge on camera to show they are present. The liveness engine must come with an accredited lab test under ISO/IEC 30107-3.
Face
At most 1 false match in 100,000
The face from the liveness check is compared with the face on the document. The score exists only during the analysis and is not stored.
Verdict
Signed with Ed25519
Your company receives the result through a webhook: approved, refused with a technical reason, or under review. It does not receive images, scores or document data.
Beyond the three stages
Uniqueness
A document can be linked to only one active account. The check uses a pseudonym of the document number and does not compare faces across accounts.
Human review
When a stage fails, the case goes to a trained person who decides within 48 hours. In the meantime the user sees “under review”. A refusal reaches the user only after that decision.
What your company never receives
images, scores, document data, face models
Your company receives only the verdict: approved, refused with a technical reason, or under review. The rest stays inside Selo.
How long the images stay
Selo runs in a separate environment, with its own cloud account, keys and network. Images are encrypted and opened only in memory, during the analysis.
